MS Outlook and the New Daylight Savings Time Rule
For the most part, the change in daylight savings time should be a non-event. Move your clocks ahead one hour on March 11 instead of April 1st, then go on with your life. But DST is already playing games with some of my Outlook Calendar dates. The problem arises when the Microsoft Time Zone Update patch is applied. (The patch is available via Microsoft Update as a recommended update.) Appointments on dates between March 11 and April 1st, entered before the patch was applied, will appear as starting one hour later than they should. The easy fix is just delete then re-create the affected appointments. Microsoft does make a tool available to adjust dates to the proper time, but there are no guarantees that it will work properly.
