Changes Coming to
Your Email !
As
previously announced, email addresses in the College of
Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES)
will change to a new domain. In order to optimize the
performance of the CFAES messaging system, a single
e-mail domain has been established for all employees,
cfaes.osu.edu. Within this domain, each CFAES employee
will be assigned a new e-mail address.
In
the past users have had an OSU assigned address in the
form of
name.number@osu.edu in addition to a college or
department assigned address. These additional addresses
may look one of the following:

username@agavax2.ag.ohio-state.edu
-
username@postoffice.ag.ohio-state.edu
-
username@ag.osu.edu
-
namenumber@postoffice.ag.ohio-state.edu
-
name.number@ag.osu.edu
These addresses will be retired. Soon, all CFAES faculty
and staff will have just two valid university email
addresses:
Steps you need to take now.

Check
subscriptions to external lists and correspondence.
Subscriptions using
name.number@osu.edu
will continue to work. No change is necessary.
If you are subscribed to a lists using other old
domains you should unsubscribe and subscribe using
your new address.

Change your
email client (Outlook, Eudora, etc.) to use the new
cfaes.osu.edu domain.

forwarding to insure email sent to this osu.edu is
forwarded to the new cfaes.osu.edu domain. (click
for help with this)
There is no forwarding to change with county
accounts
(ie, alle@cfaes.osu.edu)
so this does not apply to these accounts.

Start using
and distributing either
name.number@osu.edu
or
name.number@cfaes.osu.edu as your email address
on all correspondence.
